This project, for the NY State DOT involves the complete rehabilitation of Short Clove Road in Haverstraw, together with the addition of two new bridges. The prime contractor on the project is Echo III Enterprises, Inc. Work commenced in October 2008 and will be completed by the end of June 2010.
The first new bridge will be constructed over the CSX railroad tracks and the second will be the start of the new Short Clove Road.
Materials are being supplied by two Tilcon facilities - the Haverstraw Quarry and the Bronx Recycle facility. Materials include 208,000 tons of MSES Earth System material, 110,000 tons of embankment fill, recycled subbase, recycled select granular fill, along with stone fill, quarry stone, manufactured sand and 220,000 tons of asphalt. A total of 394,470 tons of material. All material supplied will meet NYS DOT testing requirements and approvals.
This project, which has two several different facilities, and employees from various departments, has been a total team effort, with employees working together to meet strict deadlines and material specifications.
