Working with our customers Best Concrete and Ferrara Brothers, Tilcon New York supplied the crushed stone used to produce 65,000 cy of concrete delivered to the Citi Field project. Tilcon also provided 20,000 tons of 1/4 inch, 3/4 inch and 3/8 inch stone from its Clinton Point Quarry for the stadium's infield drainage system.
Citi Field, the new world-class home of the New York Mets, opened on April 13 2009. The stadium features unprecedented sightlines, amenities and comfort for Mets fans, sports fans and visitors to the New York metropolitan area. The open-air ballpark connects the Mets’ National League heritage to the future and to the City through a number of unique design elements. Citi Field will feature natural grass and capacity for 45,000 fans. A contoured seating configuration will bring spectators closer to the field on all levels to provide optimal sightlines for a more intimate and entertaining experience throughout the park.
