44th Annual Concrete Awards

Sponsored by the New Jersey Concrete and Aggregate Association and the New Jersey Chapter of the American Concrete Institute, the Coarse Aggregate Merit Winners awards recognize projects completed by the end of 2006 and honor excellence in concept, originality and application of concrete in both design and construction. Grand Award winners are presented with the concrete industry's version of the Oscar, the 'Rocky'.

* Weekhawken Ferry Terminal, Weekhawken, NJ - Grand Award.

* Pfizer Pharmaceuticals Building 185, Morris Plains - Merit Award - Office Park.

* Weehawken Water Tower Improvements - Merit Award - Decorative.

* Grove Pointe, Jersey City - Merit Award - High Rise.  

* Lincoln Harbor Parking Facility, Weekhawken - Merit Award - Parking Garage.

* Engelwood Town Square - Merit Award - Commercial.

* 21st Century Renewal Project, Ramsey, NJ - Merit Award, Transportation.

Concrete Industry Board's - 46th Annual Roger H. Corbetta Awards

The Concrete Industry Board (CIB) awards are presented to projects that exemplify excellence in concrete in their architectural design, engineering design, general construction and workmanship either individually or in combination. In general, CIB recognizes projects only in Westchester County, Long Island and throughout the five boroughs of New York City. But, they also have an Out of Area category. The awards dinner was held in November.

Tilcon supplied coarse aggregate for four of the award winners:

* Chelsea Arts Tower  545 W. 25th St, NY, NY - Award of Merit.  

*Trump Plaza, Jersey City, New Jersey - Award of Merit, Out of Area.

* Bayonne Bridge Rehabilitation Abutment, Bayonne, NJ - Special Recognition Award.
