- National Asphalt Pavement Association – Asphalt Operations Safety Innovations Award – Tilcon was the winner in 2005 for their Safety Hazard Awareness Training Center located at the Mt. Hope, NJ site. This outdoor training facility features scenarios of potential safety hazards in mining and production operations. Newly hired as well as experienced workers utilize the Center to get first hand training on dangers such as improper use of fall protection equipment and damaged electrical wiring. The innovative Center was the vision of Tilcon’s Safety Director. Built by employees, and constructed from excess and used equipment and parts, the total cost of the project was kept to a minimum.
